Who We Are

Rockland United Cricket (RUC) is a community-driven cricket club dedicated to growing the sport throughout Rockland County and the surrounding region. We bring players of all ages and skill levels together through regular practice sessions, competitive leagues, exciting tournaments, youth development programs, and inclusive community events. Guided by the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, diversity, and healthy living, RUC strives to create a welcoming environment where everyone can learn, compete, and build lasting connections through the game of cricket.

• Collaborate with town and county officials to secure additional cricket grounds, following successful models like those in Westchester.

• Strengthen bonds within the Rockland cricket community and create a sense of belonging.

• Expand participation across all age groups and skill levels, growing cricket as a mainstream sport in Rockland County.

• Develop the next generation of elite players capable of representing USA Cricket.

• Conduct structured training programs for kids, building discipline, technique, and passion.

• Promote and enable women’s cricket through dedicated sessions, accessible locations, and supportive programming.

Long-Term Vision

• Establish Rockland County as a recognized cricket hub in the tri-state area.

• Build permanent local infrastructure — dedicated fields, indoor practice facilities, and coaching programs.

• Create pathways for youth players to progress into national-level academies and professional opportunities.

• Foster a thriving multi-generational cricket culture where families participate, support, and celebrate the sport together.

• Position Rockland teams as strong competitors in regional leagues, known for discipline, unity, and talent.

• Ultimately, build a sustainable ecosystem that elevates cricket accessibility, visibility, and excellence for decades to come.

Our Story

Many of us moved from westcheser to Rockland County in last few year, and shortly after settling in, we began noticing several challenges specific to playing cricket in our area and that brought the cricket community togehter to work for a common goal and some of it are listed below.

Current Challenges

• Many players, including myself, have been commuting to Bronx or Westchester to play — long, tiring commutes that limit participation.

• A community survey revealed that numerous Rockland cricket enthusiasts travel significant distances due to the lack of local options.

• Rockland has never been represented as a unified team in regional leagues because no common forum existed to bring players together.

• Kids interested in cricket often travel to New Jersey for indoor practice due to limited local facilities.

• Women’s cricket participation has been very limited, largely due to travel restrictions and absence of nearby training opportunities.

• Many players stopped playing because they were unaware of any organized local cricket groups.

• Skill levels vary widely across the community, but there has been no structured support system to help players grow.
